The division of Materials Science & Metallurgy happens to be housed in a new building from the West Cambridge Science and Technology campus. For the first time with its history, the Department is housed in one building created for function. The Department has over 30 scholastic staff including study fellows, over 50 administrative, technical and help staff, and roughly 80 postdoctoral scientists, 130 research pupils and 30 visiting scientists anytime.
- Dr Noel Rutter's share to teaching acknowledged with a Pilkington reward
Dr Noel Rutter has been chosen as a 2016 Pilkington reward champion. The prizes, endowed by Sir Alastair Pilkington, acknowledge excellence in training and they are awarded to people who make a substantial share into the teaching programme of a Department, Faculty or the University as a whole.
