Within the compulsory condition training system around age 14, evaluation is usually completed at regular periods against nationwide Curriculum amounts. This might be especially the case after each Key Stage, at the ages of 7, 11 and 14, where students tend to be statutorily evaluated against these amounts. The levels are placed on each of the compulsory subjects, and include amount 1 to stage 8, with an additional band for 'Exceptional Performance'. The division for knowledge states that students can be expected to achieve a regular degree at the conclusion of each crucial Stage. They are reported as being degree 2 at age seven, Level 4 at age eleven, and Level 5 at age twelve, and amount 6c-level 8a at age fourteen. Young ones are expected to create two sub degrees of progress annually, e.g.: average=4c in year 6, whilst average in year 7=4a, year 8=5b and finally, 12 months 9=6c.

General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)[edit]

An over-all Certificate of Secondary knowledge is, since September 2015, graded on a-1 - 9 scale, with a 9 becoming the highest possible success and 1 becoming the best.

A 9 is recognized as excellent and, statistically, just awarded towards top 3percent of this population.

But "9-1" exams can be taken from 2017 for English Literature, English Language and Mathematics and from 2018 for all various other subjects. Those who may be taking examinations in 2016, and topics apart from English and Maths in 2017, are graded A*-G (with U for if you are really bad).

GCSE's are taken between Year 9 and 12 months 11, as they are the past part of necessary education.
